Information on the movie! Plot revealed in full-detail!

Anemone, Talho and Holland are also officially part of the cast!

The movie is set in a world where mankind has been at war with the mysterious lifeforms known as Image for over half a century. Renton joined the battleship Gekko-go as a member 8 years ago to search for the kidnapped Eureka. Now, in the battlefield, he will meet her again.

Dominic is supposed to be a teacher to Renton and Eureka when they lived in Warsaw 8 years ago. One day after telling them about the legend surrounding the Snow Moon Flowers, he vanishes. Eureka is described as a young girl whose body reacts strangely to direct sunlight. She's captured by the military and kept as their most guarded secret. To get her back, he entered the military. 8 years later, Renton will enter the battlefield with his favorite mech Nirvash.

The article goes on to specify that the story is brand new, and while the names and circumstances might be the same, the worldview and scenario is completely original. The cast listing in the article lists Renton, Eureka, Holland, Talho, Dominic and Anemone. So those are definitely in the movie, at least.

So this is definitely a sort of AU? The premise is really intriguing and I can't wait to find out more and who else will be in it.

Ah, I see, so the child versions of Eureka and Renton in the promo art are from when they first knew each other, and they'll be older in the "main part" of the movie. I was wondering about that ^^

The plot sounds good too! I'm so happy they're giving us more details! X3

I'm so confused. ._o So...the characters are the same, but it's a totally different story separate from the TV show? As in, nothing that happened in the show has any bearing on the movie?

It's AU.

It's actually a really common thing to do, kinda like how the manga was different from the anime.

I'm more familiar with manga than anime, so this is kinda new to me. It just seems a bit weird! XD I'm bummed that the movie isn't a continuation of the anime story...

YES YES YES This is the kind of thing I wanted! Same characters and same general world, but a totally alternate universe! I'm so freaking excited. I'm glad they kept Eureka as being otherworldly but don't seem to be recycling the Coralian race necessarily-- at least not in the same way.

God, I am just writhing in anticipation for a trailer!

Am I the only one who is a little disappointed? I wish it were a continuation rather than AU ... I dunno - it could be good, but 95+% of what made Eureka SeveN good was the story :/ ... even though the manga was different, it had the same GENERAL story.

I'd be way more interested in knowing what happens after the anime ... I mean ... the whole picture of Eureka and Renton's children on the cover of the 12th/final DVD now means nothing, you know? I want to know about the future human!Coralian race.

Bummer.

I'll still watch it, and probably enjoy it, but still.
